Vir Das known for his acting and comedy, has announced a new project in collaboration with the streaming giant Netflix. After his award winning show, landing, and others like For India, Losing It and Abroad Understanding, he is gearing up in excitement for his fifth show, and commented, "Comedy has the power to bring people together, no matter where they come from."
Netflix and Vir took to social media for announcing the project and wrote, "It's official! After winning hearts, smiles and an International Emmy Award, Vir Das is coming back to Netflix with an exciting comedy special and we're here for it."
To his statement, Vir gave a jist about the project mentioning that with this special, he is trying to bring something fresh to the genre of comedy by sharing stories and experiences that celebrate love and kindness while showcasing laughter as a universal language which will be an unapologetic direct shot of happiness to the heart.
In a press release issued by Netflix, the streaming giant said that the show offers a unique narrative of self-discovery and global connection. Talking about Vir in the press releases, they said, "as Vir moves from familiar stages to unexpected settings, he uncovers a profound truth: kindness is the only true universal language. In an era where roasts dominate the comedy landscape, Vir boldly challenges the norm by embracing joy and encouraging the world to share happiness freely."
In 2023, Vir became the first Indian to win an International Emmy Award for Comedy for his special titled Vir Das: Landing. He will also be hosting the 52nd International Emmy Award, set to take place in New York on November 25.
