In a heartfelt moment, singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh paused his concert in Germany to pay an emotional tribute to Ratan Tata, the beloved industrialist and philanthropist who passed away on Wednesday night at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, was 86.

A video capturing Diljitâs tribute quickly went viral across social media, resonating with fans and followers worldwide. During the concert, Diljit, speaking in Punjabi, addressed the crowd, saying, "You all know Ratan Tata. He passed away, and this is my small tribute to him. I felt it necessary to take his name today because throughout his life, he worked hard. Whatever I have heard and read of him, I never saw him speak ill of anyone."
Diljit continued by praising Tataâs immense contributions, stating, "He has always worked hard in his life, did good work, and helped people. This is life, this is how one should be. If there is one thing we can learn from his life, it is that we should work hard, think positively, be helpful, and live life to its fullest."
Diljit also took to his Instagram story, re-sharing a fan post from @teamdiljit, and simply wrote, "RIP Ratan Tata," alongside a black heart emoji, showing his respect for the iconic businessman.
Currently, Diljit has been touring Europe and the United States for several weeks. Following the conclusion of his international tour, he is set to embark on the Indian leg of his tour this October, beginning on October 26 at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The tour will also take him to major cities like Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, and Bangalore.
As for the nation, preparations have been made for the public to pay their final respects to Ratan Tata. His mortal remains will be available for viewing at the NCPA Lawns in Nariman Point, Mumbai, on Thursday at 10:30 am. According to a statement from Tata Trust, the final journey will begin at 4 pm, with the remains being taken to the Prayer Hall at the Worli Crematorium for the last rites.
