Salim Khan, exhibiting both wisdom and composure, advised his son to make amends. He reflected, "Salman came to me the morning after the incident, explaining what had transpired. I inquired if he recognised it was his fault, to which he admitted, attributing his actions to the influence of alcohol. I recommended he call Subhash and apologise, which he duly did."

Salman Khan’s Own Reflections

In a 2002 interview with Lehren, Salman Khan openly discussed the altercation and his subsequent apology. He candidly admitted to his actions, stating, "I have inflicted pain on myself in various ways, but I cannot bring harm to others. The incident with Subhash Ghai was an unfortunate lapse in my behaviour. Following the incident, I realised the necessity of apologising. Although I felt provoked, and my actions were not justified, I recognised the importance of addressing my mistake." Salman’s account provided insight into his state of mind and the regret he felt, underscoring the personal conflict he experienced.

Subhash Ghai’s Perspective

Subhash Ghai, who later worked with Salman Khan on the film Yuvvraaj, offered his perspective on the incident and the subsequent reconciliation. Reflecting on the past, Ghai shared that Salman had come to him in a contrite manner. Ghai recounted, "Salman approached me with a demeanor of genuine remorse. I greeted him with a smile and asked, 'What happened last night?' He responded, 'I’m here because my father advised me to apologise.' I then asked, 'Do you acknowledge your mistake?' to which he affirmed, 'Indeed, I do.' This incident marked a turning point, as Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai eventually developed a close friendship, demonstrating the power of forgiveness and reconciliation in mending strained relationships."
