Actress Yami Gautam is beaming with pride over her father Mukesh Gautam’s recent accolade. Mukesh Gautam has clinched the National Award for Best Punjabi Feature Film for his movie Baghi Di Dhee. In a heartfelt note, Yami took to Instagram on Thursday to share two pictures of herself with her father, proudly showcasing the National Award.
In her post, Yami expressed her joy and emotional connection to the moment with a touching caption: “Only if I could express how happy & emotional my heart felt at this moment. My father, Mr. Mukesh Gautam, winning a National award is a true testimony that you need not belong to anyone but your own conscience to stand the test of time & make it happen. My father's ethics, passion for his work, and honesty in life are his biggest assets and most important legacy for his children.”
The actress reflected on the invaluable life lessons imparted by her father, stating, “From being my best guiding voice—be it giving the clearest instructions to board my first train alone to narrating some of his most memorable experiences during his work journey—his disappointments, and his ability to find happiness in whatever he did, he has always given his best regardless of the situation. He has also shared some of the best philosophy quotes on family in our group chats.”
Yami went on to highlight Mukesh's unwavering support for her personal journey: “My dad never gave my recommendation to anyone, for he always made it clear that it’s going to be my own journey—full of hardships, just like his. In the end, should I choose to stay resilient and work on my craft, that will yield the best fruit of my own labor. He has always stood by me, my siblings, and has protected us in every way a father can.”
Yami celebrated her father’s achievement and the special bond they share, referring to him affectionately as “MG sir,” a name his grandchildren use.
