Bollywood and Punjabi singer-rapper Badshah, acclaimed for chart-topping hits such as "DJ Waley Babu," "Genda Phool," "Sank," "Buzz," "Jugnu," and "Mercy," has become a significant figure in the music industry. Known for his dynamic sound and frequent media appearances, Badshah's personal life has often captured public interest, particularly his recent associations with actress Mrunal Thakur and Pakistani star Hania Amir. However, it is his personal revelations about his past marriage that have recently come to the forefront. For the first time since his divorce, Badshah has openly discussed his marital challenges, the dissolution of his marriage, and his relationship with his daughter.
The Breakdown of a Relationship
At 39 years old, Badshah's marriage to Jasmine Masih began in 2012, with the couple welcoming their daughter, Jesemi Grace Masih Singh, five years later. While their relationship began on a promising note, it eventually soured, leading to their separation in 2020. After a period of four years post-divorce, Badshah has now chosen to disclose the factors contributing to their split. Despite their attempts to reconcile, the relationship could not be preserved.
Reflections on Reconciliation
In a candid interview on the podcast "Prakhar ke Pravachan," Badshah reflected on his past relationship, expressing a profound sense of closure. He remarked, "We both made every effort to salvage the relationship. We gave it everything we had, but we ultimately separated because the relationship was not in the best interest of our child." He elaborated on his perspective regarding love and relationships, emphasizing that love is a beautiful feeling, but relationships demand continuous effort and balance.
The Dichotomy of Love and Relationships
Badshah delineated his understanding of love versus relationships, suggesting that while love involves caring for someone without judgment, relationships are akin to a full-time job requiring ongoing effort. He noted the importance of balancing personal views within a relationship and acknowledged that maintaining contentment and harmony is crucial.
Moving Forward with No Regrets
Addressing the end of his marriage, Badshah expressed no regrets or remorse, stating, "Balancing personal views within a relationship requires managing many factors. As for my separation from my wife, I have neither regrets nor remorse because we know we did everything possible to save our relationship." Although he does see his daughter, Jesemi Grace Masih Singh, on occasion, her residence in London means these visits are infrequent.
A Warm Relationship with His Daughter
Badshah described his bond with his daughter as warm and affectionate. He shared, "She says that Daddy is nice, but she isn't a fan of mine." He also disclosed that Jesemi is a fervent BLACKPINK fan, presenting a unique challenge for him as he selects gifts. Additionally, Badshah addressed recent rumours about his relationship with actress Isha Rikh, dismissing the speculation as unfounded.
