Former Indian cricketer, Ajay Jadeja becomes the wealthiest Indian cricketer with a net worth of Rs 1450 crore, surpassing Virat Kohli, whose net worth is estimated at around Rs 1000 crore. This sudden turn of tables happened after Maharaja Jamsaheb of Nawanagar named Ajay the heir to the Jamnagar royal throne.
This inheritance not only made him the wealthiest sports personality in India but also solidified the already deep connection between Jamnagar royal family and the world of cricket. The prestigious Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy are also named after Ajay Jadeja's relatives, KS Ranjitsinhji and KS Duleepsinhji, respectively.
Ajay Jadeja's father, Daulatsingh Jadeja served as a member of parliament for the Jamnagar constituency three times. The Maharaja expressed his views on the decision to name Ajay as the heir, emphasising its significance for the people of Jamnagar. He added, "Ajay Jadeja taking up the responsibility of serving the people of Jamnagar is truly a boon."
The former cricketer played for the Indian cricket team in 196 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 15 Test matches for India between 1992 and 2000. After retiring from cricket, he transitioned into the entertainment industry, taking on roles in films such as "Khel" (2003) and "Pal Pal Dil Ke Ssaat" (2009). He also had a cameo in "Kai Po Che!" (2013) and participated in the inaugural season of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa."
