Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar’s friendship is legendary in Bollywood, and their playful interactions never fail to entertain. This dynamic duo, known for their blockbuster collaborations, will once again share the stage as hosts of the IIFA Awards 2024. On Tuesday, fans were treated to a delightful glimpse of their chemistry at the IIFA 2024 press conference in Mumbai, where their friendly banter took centre stage.
Shah Rukh Khan's Playful Banter With Karan Johar Goes Viral
A video from the event has gone viral, capturing Shah Rukh Khan in his element, teasing Karan Johar about his hosting preparations—or the lack thereof. “Karan has told me he's not going to rehearse for hosting, he will do it on Zoom,” SRK quipped, imitating Karan’s casual approach. “Bhai, main Zoom pe karlunga. Main badi jaldi jaldi karta hoon. Main toh itna hosting karta hoon,” he added, mimicking the filmmaker’s laid-back attitude.
But the fun didn’t stop there. Shah Rukh took the opportunity to gently rib Karan about his prolific hosting gigs, suggesting that he might want to focus more on filmmaking. “Picture bhi toh bana mere bhai. Tu kitna host karega,” SRK joked, reminding Karan of his roots as a filmmaker.
Karan Johar, always quick with a witty comeback, laughed and agreed with King Khan. “I was thinking the same when Siddhant (Chaturvedi) said the same thing. I was like, ‘This is sounding so wrong on all levels for a filmmaker'. I should be making more movies. That is exactly what I should be doing,” Karan admitted, acknowledging that his true passion lies in directing and producing films.
Their rapport is not just limited to hosting duties. Shah Rukh and Karan share a deep friendship that has been evident in their many successful collaborations, including iconic films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, My Name is Khan, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Their bond, both on and off-screen, has endeared them to fans across the globe.
