Since its highly anticipated release on Friday, 27th September, Devara Part 1, starring Junior NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, has been making waves at the box office. This action-packed drama has captivated audiences, and its impressive performance has cemented its place among the year's most successful films. One of the key factors contributing to the excitement surrounding the movie was Junior NTR's long-awaited return to the silver screen after a six-year hiatus. This break heightened anticipation, driving both fan engagement and box office numbers. However, while the film enjoyed a stellar opening day, its earnings experienced a noticeable dip on the second day. Let’s delve into how Devara Part 1 performed during its third day at the box office, on Sunday.

Devara Part 1 Shatters Opening Weekend Records

In just three days, Devara Part 1 has set new benchmarks, breaking several records and outpacing the opening weekend collections of some of the most significant blockbusters of recent times. With a three-day cumulative total of ₹161 crore, Devara Part 1 has surpassed the earnings of films such as Gadar 2 (₹134.88 crore), Tiger 3 (₹148.50 crore), and Bharat (₹150.10 crore). The film is now on a clear path to surpass the ₹200 crore mark, a milestone it is poised to achieve in the coming days.

Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara Part 1 features Junior NTR in a compelling dual role, portraying both father and son. The film's gripping narrative is complemented by Janhvi Kapoor, who plays the role of Thangam, while Saif Ali Khan, making his debut in Tollywood, impresses as the film’s primary antagonist, Bhaira. The casting of Saif in such a pivotal role has added to the film’s appeal, further enhancing its mass draw across diverse demographics.

Third-Day Earnings: A Steady Growth

As expected from a film of this magnitude, Devara Part 1 generated considerable buzz even before its release. The film's trailer, which featured cutting-edge VFX and breathtaking underwater action sequences, set the tone for a major box-office hit. The anticipation around the film translated into substantial advance bookings, ensuring a thunderous opening day, with the film shattering several pre-existing records. It even eclipsed Stree 2, which had been reigning at the box office for the past month and a half.

On its opening day, Devara Part 1 amassed a staggering ₹82.5 crore, setting the stage for a triumphant run. However, the second day saw a noticeable decline in collections, with the film bringing in ₹38.2 crore. Early estimates for the third day, Sunday, indicate a slight recovery, with the film earning ₹40.3 crore.

The breakdown of the third-day earnings reveals significant contributions from various regional versions of the film. The Telugu version alone accounted for ₹27.65 crore, demonstrating the strong support from Junior NTR's home state audience. The Hindi version contributed ₹11 crore, reflecting the film’s pan-Indian appeal, while the Kannada version brought in ₹35 lakh, the Tamil version garnered ₹1.05 crore, and the Malayalam version earned ₹25 lakh.

With these robust figures, the total earnings for Devara Part 1 now stand at an impressive ₹161 crore by the end of its first weekend. Despite the slight dip in numbers on the second day, the film’s performance on Sunday suggests a strong upward trajectory, and the momentum is expected to continue as the film approaches the ₹200 crore mark.
