His contribution to Indian cinema was notably highlighted by the 90s hit song ‘Tu Mile Dil Khile,’ featuring alongside Manisha Koirala, which continues to resonate with fans. From Engineering to Acting

Few know that Akkineni Nagarjuna’s journey into the film industry was not a straightforward one. Initially pursuing a degree in automobile engineering, he eventually pivoted to acting, a decision that would significantly shape his career. Over nearly three decades, Nagarjuna has starred in numerous box office hits, establishing himself as a major figure in Indian cinema. His acting career commenced with the successful film ‘Sudigundalu,’ but it was the 1987 film ‘Majnu’ that marked his first major breakthrough. Nagarjuna's legacy is further enriched by his father, Nageshwar Rao Akkineni, a celebrated actor who set high standards in the industry.

Nagarjuna's Marriages

Nagarjuna's personal life, much like his film roles, is filled with intrigue. His first marriage was to Lakshmi Daggubati, daughter of the esteemed film producer Dr. D. Ramanayudu and sister to filmmaker and actor Venkatesh Suresh Babu. Their son, Naga Chaitanya, born in 1984, has carved out his own successful career in Telugu cinema and made his Bollywood debut. Nagarjuna and Lakshmi divorced in 1990, after which he married actress Amala. Together, Nagarjuna and Amala have a son, Akhil Akkineni. Nagarjuna's eldest son, Naga Chaitanya, was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu, though the couple has since separated.

Luxury Car Collection

Beyond his film and television career, Nagarjuna's passions extend to luxury automobiles. A known car enthusiast, his impressive collection includes high-end vehicles such as an Audi A7, Range Rover Evoque, Mercedes A-Class, and BMW 7 Series, among others. His interests also span sports; he hosts the Telugu version of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and owns a team in the Indian Badminton League, ‘Mumbai Masters,’ in collaboration with cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar. Additionally, Nagarjuna holds shares in the Mahi Racing Team India alongside Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
