The highly anticipated trailer for Devara: Part 1, featuring the charismatic Junior NTR, has sparked intense debate across various online platforms. While many fans and critics alike have lauded the film for its striking visuals and stellar cast, including Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, a few dissenting voices have emerged, particularly in the YouTube community. One such instance recently took an unexpected turn, when a YouTuber's mockery of the trailer resulted in a heated exchange with actor Vishwak Sen, who retaliated by body-shaming the critic.
The incident occurred during a live Instagram session, where two South Indian YouTubers discussed their reactions to the Devara trailer. They echoed some of the criticisms circulating on social media, one of which targeted Junior NTR’s physical appearance. This commentary particularly irked Vishwak Sen, an actor and staunch supporter of Junior NTR. Frustrated by what he perceived as baseless and disrespectful criticism, Sen responded with an aggressive retort.
The Devara: Part 1 trailer, which was recently released, had quickly become a hot topic of conversation. While the majority of viewers praised the performances of Junior NTR, Kapoor, and Khan, as well as the trailer’s impressive action sequences and visual effects, some found certain elements lacking. Among the complaints was a specific scene involving NTR riding a shark, which garnered both admiration and ridicule. The YouTubers, who dissected this particular scene, also went on to make disparaging remarks about Junior NTR’s looks.
Vishwak Sen, evidently offended by these comments, did not hesitate to strike back. In his Instagram story, he directed his frustration at one of the YouTubers, remarking, “This man exists only to tarnish my name. Try sitting for two minutes without leaning against a wall, and then we can discuss what makes better cinema for the audience. Just seeing your face irritates me, so you have no right to comment on anyone's appearance." His response took on an unmistakably personal tone, as the YouTuber in question happened to share the same name as Vishwak Sen, further intensifying the confrontation.
For those unfamiliar with Vishwak Sen, he is a notable figure in the Telugu film industry, known for his work as an actor, writer, and director. Since his debut in 2017, Sen has built a solid career, with standout performances in films such as HIT, Gami, and Gangs of Godavari. His close association with Junior NTR is well-known, with the two sharing mutual admiration. At a recent event, Junior NTR himself praised Vishwak Sen and fellow actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda, referring to them as the future of Telugu cinema.
Despite the controversy surrounding the YouTuber's remarks and Sen's subsequent response, anticipation for Devara remains high. Junior NTR, one of the most prominent figures in Indian cinema, leads the film, with Saif Ali Khan portraying the antagonist and Janhvi Kapoor playing NTR’s love interest. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1 promises to be a grand cinematic experience, and it is set to release in theatres on 27th December in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
