Kartik Aryan and Vidya Balan will bring their unique charm to the iconic quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. With the episode already filmed and promos making rounds, fans eagerly anticipate the special moments that are bound to unfold.
In a light-hearted segment during the Pehla Padaav, Amitabh Bachchan engaged both Kartik and Vidya in a delightful conversation about their dietary preferences. He kicked off the discussion by inquiring about their dietary restrictions, leading to a heartwarming exchange about comfort food. Vidya candidly revealed, “Dahi chawal. Whenever I crave comfort, I have dahi chawal.” Her nostalgia for street food surfaced as she reminisced, “I grew up in Chembur, where there used to be a vada pav stall near the post office. Sir, I’m salivating just thinking about it!”
Continuing the trip down memory lane, Amitabh shared his own favorite food haunt in Chembur, known for its delectable Gulab Jamun, stating, “The gulab jamun there is amazing.” He also noted the fondness for dahi chawal in South India, to which Vidya humorously quipped, “Dahi bhaat is the remedy for everything.”
Kartik also joined in on the nostalgia, recounting his experiences with street food, particularly mentioning a Chinese stall in Juhu, near Amitabh Bachchan’s residence. He shared that he has been visiting this stall since his struggling days and still makes time for it whenever possible. In a lighthearted moment, he joked that they named a dish after him, calling it "The Kartik Special." Amitabh chuckled in agreement, saying, “There’s something special about eating on the roadside, and since this place is near my house, I’ll visit it to try the ‘Kartik Special.’” Vidya humorously added, “Sir, if you go there, they might change the name of the place!”
The conversation took an amusing turn when Mr. Bachchan shared an anecdote about his grandson, Agastya Nanda. While studying in New York, Agastya frequented an Indian restaurant where he discovered a dish named after his grandfather, “Amitabh Bachchan.” Upon learning this, Agastya told the staff, “You know, he’s my grandfather.” Initially met with skepticism, he showed them a photo on his phone, which earned him free meals for two years!
Kartik couldn’t help but laugh, adding, “Sir, wherever I go to eat in Juhu, they continue to charge me full price!”
Agastya Nanda, son of Amitabh's daughter Shweta Bachchan, made his acting debut last year in Zoya Akhtar's coming-of-age musical, The Archies. He will next be seen in Sriram Raghavan's war drama, Ikkis.
Fans of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” can look forward to this entertaining episode, filled with laughter, heartfelt stories, and delightful food memories shared by some of Bollywood’s beloved stars.
