With the Navratri season kicking in, the Bollywood parents are ready to share their jubilant arrangements for their little Laxmi's first Kanjak or Kanya-Puja. This nine-day long festival may not be a grand celebration in Mumbai, but for celebrities from places like Gujarat or Delhi, it evokes a vibrant memory lane filled with passion and craziness. In those regions, these nine days are celebrated with unique energies, vibes and without the time constrains.
So, here we bring you a glimpse inside the Bollywood parents' gala preparations for their little cuties on their first Navratri.
Former actor, Smriti Khan welcomed her second daughter Aizah, after her first born, Anayka, with husband Gautam Gupta. She gushes, "We now have two Laxmis in the house. Growing up with a sister, I know how special that bond is. In Delhi, it's a tradition to collect Kanjaks, and I hope Aizah shares this experience with Anayka. I've even got matching outfits for both of them! These girls brighten up every festival and bring warmth to our family.
Meanwhile, actor-comedian, Suggandha Mishra welcomed her first child with her husband Sanket Bhosle last year in December and will reveal her name on social media this Navratri. The actress added that she has already ordered the cutest little ghaghra choli for her, in Mata Rani's favourite red colour. "With a tiny bindi on her forehead, bangles jingling on her writs and her infectious smile, she will look like a mini Man Durga herself."
Actor Tarun Virwani, welcomed his baby girl on September 24 with wife Tanya Jacob. The couple has not yet named their daughter but calls her "ghar mein Laxmi." He adds, "no Navratri celebration up until now in my life has come even remotely close. The timing is incredible...She is just a few days old so we don't want to overwhelm her, but we are planning to dress her in traditional clothes. We all certainly believe that "ghar mein Laxmi aayi hain. Our little Kanjak will bring a lot of good luck into our family."
In addition to these celebrities, Mohena Kumari, known for "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai," welcomed their daughter Gauritaa, on March 31. The couple also shared that since their daughter recently turned six months old, they have planned her Annaprashan during this auspicious time. The couple has also decided to dress her in simple and soft traditional wear, without any sparkles or anything gaudy. "Our little Kanjak will spread magic in our lives," says Mohena.
As Navratri 2024 unfolds, Bollywood parents are embracing the festival with heartfelt preparations for their little ones. From colourful outfits to cherished traditions, these celebrations reflect the joy and warmth that accompany this vibrant occasion.
