Kangana Ranaut's highly anticipated film Emergency has finally received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The actress took to her X handle on Thursday to share the exciting news with her fans.

In her post, Kangana expressed gratitude for the support and patience shown by her audience: “We are glad to announce we have received the censor certificate for our movie Emergency; we will be announcing the release date soon. Thank you for your patience and support.”

The film, a biographical political thriller, explores the tumultuous life of Indira Gandhi during the emergency period she imposed from 1975 to 1977. However, the journey to its release hasn't been smooth. Earlier in September, Kangana discussed the challenges faced by the film's creators due to the delays in its launch. In an interview with ANI, she revealed the significant repercussions stemming from the postponement.

"I know how I made this film. I did not get any support from the film industry. It's made on a huge budget. I, along with Zee and other partners, created Emergency, and now with the release delay, everyone is bearing a huge loss. The delay in release is a loss for all. I think the Censor Board should take the responsibility to release this film at the earliest," she stated.

Emergency has faced its share of controversies, including backlash from several Sikh groups. Produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, the film promises to provide a gripping portrayal of one of India's most significant political periods, offering viewers an insight into historical events that shaped the nation. As fans eagerly await the official release date, the film is expected to spark conversations about its political themes and historical relevance.
