Security has been significantly heightened at the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan following fresh death threats demanding an extortion payment of Rs 5 crore. This alarming situation unfolded after the Mumbai Police reported that a threatening message had been sent to the WhatsApp number of the Mumbai Traffic Police, stating the demand for Rs 5 crore to resolve Khan's alleged long-standing rivalry with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The message sender claimed to have connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and warned that the actor's life would be in jeopardy if the extortion money was not paid. The sender ominously stated, "Don't take it lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wishes to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan's condition will be worse than Baba Siddique."
This incident comes in the wake of the recent murder of Nationalist Congress Party leader Baba Siddique, heightening the tension in the city. In response to the threats against Khan, the Worli Police have registered a case and are actively investigating the source and motives behind this disturbing communication.
Following the assassination of Siddique on October 12, which occurred outside his office, police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the suspects involved in his murder. A look-out circular has been issued for Shubham Lonkar, along with two other suspects, Shiv Kumar Gautam and Zeeshan Akhtar, who are believed to be attempting to flee to Nepal.
Zeeshan Siddique, the son of the slain NCP leader, has called for justice for his father and urged against politicizing the tragic event. In light of these incidents, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reassured the public that those responsible for such crimes would face the full force of the law, stating, "No one will be spared. Strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty."
The Mumbai Crime Branch has already arrested four individuals connected to Siddique's murder, while three suspects remain at large. The unfolding situation underscores the seriousness of the threats against Salman Khan and the ongoing efforts to maintain safety and justice in Mumbai.
