Actor Ranveer Singh recently opened up about why his wife, Deepika Padukone, was unable to attend the trailer launch event of their upcoming film, Singham Again. At the event held on Monday, Ranveer revealed that the film not only features a star-studded cast but also marks the debut of their daughter, whom he affectionately referred to as “Baby Simmba.” The nickname holds special significance, as Ranveer's character in the Singham franchise is named Simmba.
Speaking to the audience, Ranveer said, “There are so many stars in our film, but let me tell you, this is my baby's debut—Baby Simmba—because Deepika was pregnant during the shooting.” His heartfelt words captured the audience’s attention, highlighting the personal significance of the film for the couple.
Amidst speculation regarding Deepika’s attendance, it became clear why she was absent. Ranveer explained, “Deepika is busy with the baby. So she couldn’t come. My duty is at night, so I came.” This statement not only reflects Ranveer’s new role as a father but also emphasizes the couple's commitment to their family.
As he made his way to the event, Ranveer took a moment to show his love for Deepika by stopping to admire her image on a Singham Again poster. He even performed a ritual to ward off the evil eye before joining co-stars Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, and Tiger Shroff at the trailer launch.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh welcomed their first child, a baby girl, last month. The ecstatic couple took to social media to share their joy, expressing immense gratitude for this new chapter in their lives. Both have openly shared their excitement about parenthood, and the arrival of their daughter has brought them even closer together.
Singham Again will see the return of Ajay Devgn as DCP Bajirao Singham, alongside Kareena Kapoor, who is rejoining the franchise. Additionally, rumors suggest that Salman Khan may make a special appearance as Chulbul Pandey. Fans eagerly anticipate the film's release, which is set to hit theaters on November 1.
